The Last Bit of Freedom
We don’t choose the storm. We don’t choose illness, loss, or sudden setbacks. Life throws things at us, unwanted, unexpected, and often unfair.

Things are the way they are, not the way we wish they were. Yet, we always have one powerful choice: our attitude.

Between what happens to us and how we respond, there’s a small space of freedom. In that space, we decide who we want to be. Will we blame or take responsibility? Will we give up or rise?

It’s easy to play the victim and let circumstances define us. But every moment gives us the chance to decide again, to show up with courage, kindness, or strength, even when it’s hard.

So we fight to bring our best self to the roles we’ve been given, as a parent, partner, colleague, or friend. Not perfectly, but intentionally. Because the real goal isn’t perfection, it’s presence. It’s collecting meaningful moments, those when we chose well.

And one day, when you pause to look back on your life, you’ll feel it in your chest that you showed up, you gave your best, and you made it count. And that feeling will be enough.
