Be the Change
Integrity is the hallmark of great leaders, and this attribute becomes visible when they lead by example. A manager who wants collaboration in his organization must collaborate; if he wants respect in the work environment he must show respect to others.
This idea of leading by the example of course applies also for parenting. If we want our children to work hard and be generous, we must work hard and act generously.
How to start to put this idea into action?
Make a list of the values you would like to see around you and make a personal commitment to exemplify them. For example, if you want a more positive environment, act positively.
